Violent Offender to Face Court After High-Speed Police Pursuit in Sydney’s West

A 45-year-old man is set to appear in Liverpool Local Court today after being charged with multiple domestic violence and public endangerment offenses following a chaotic police pursuit across Western Sydney.

According to New South Wales (NSW) Police, the situation escalated after officers from Camden Police Area Command launched an investigation on July 9, 2025, in response to reports that a 31-year-old woman had received threatening messages. The case took a dangerous turn just days later.

On Sunday, July 13, around 5:00 p.m., officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attempted to arrest the suspect while he was in a vehicle on Crown Street in Granville. Rather than complying, the man allegedly attempted to evade arrest by driving directly at two male police Constables. One officer was reportedly pinned against a brick fence and had his foot run over in the process.

A vehicle pursuit was then initiated, involving the Police Operation Response Support (PORS), Highway Patrol, and POLAIR (Police Air Wing). During the chase, police allege the man drove dangerously, speeding excessively, running red lights, and at times driving into oncoming traffic, putting countless lives at risk.

The pursuit came to an end when the suspect crashed into a street sign on Castlereagh Street in Warwick Farm. He was quickly taken into custody and transported to Liverpool Police Station. There, officers from Bankstown Police Area Command charged him with a litany of serious offenses, including:

  • Contravening an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO)
  • Use of a carriage service (such as a phone or internet) to threaten or harass
  • Stalking and intimidation with the intent to cause fear or physical harm
  • Malicious damage to property
  • Breach of bail conditions
  • Using a weapon (in this case, a vehicle) to resist or avoid arrest
  • Engaging in a police pursuit (commonly referred to as “Skye’s Law”)

NSW Police confirmed that the man was refused bail and is expected to face Liverpool Local Court today, Monday, July 14, 2025.

This latest incident highlights growing concerns about repeat offenders flouting court orders and putting both citizens and officers at serious risk. While police across Western Sydney continue to work tirelessly to protect the public, these events underscore a need for a tougher stance on those who repeatedly disregard the law and endanger others.
