Two Men Charged After Teen Stabbed in Targeted Attack on Sydney’s Lower North Shore

A 16-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after being violently attacked and stabbed in the thigh in Sydney’s affluent suburb of Mosman. Two men, aged 18 and 20, have been arrested and charged over the incident, which occurred late Friday night. Both suspects were refused bail and are due to face court.

Police from the North Shore Police Area Command allege the two men stalked the teenage victim before ambushing him on Awaba Street in Mosman around 11:00 p.m. Emergency services responded quickly after receiving reports of a stabbing. Officers arrived to find the teenager suffering from a stab wound, and he was treated at the scene by New South Wales (NSW) Ambulance paramedics before being taken to the hospital in a stable condition.

Shortly after the assault, police established a crime scene and tracked the suspects to a nearby property. The two men were taken into custody and transported to Chatswood Police Station, where they were formally charged. The 18-year-old faces charges of being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, affray (public fighting), common assault, and stalking with intent to cause physical harm. The 20-year-old was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.

Police have not yet released details on a motive, but confirmed that the assault appeared to be a targeted attack. The two men will appear before Parramatta Local Court, where the magistrate will determine whether bail will continue to be denied ahead of further proceedings.
