Teen Arrested After Multiple Stabbings in Annandale Park

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after six men were injured, one critically, during a violent altercation in Sydney’s inner west late Thursday night.

Emergency services were called to a park on Chapman Road in Annandale around 10:45 pm on 7 August 2025, following reports of an assault involving multiple people. Officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command arrived to find six men with varying injuries after reportedly being attacked by a group of four unknown males.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated all six men at the scene. A 21-year-old man had sustained stab wounds and was transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Two other victims were also taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, while another two were transferred to St Vincent’s Hospital. The sixth man received medical attention at the scene but did not require hospitalisation.

According to early investigations, the violence followed an argument between the victims and their attackers. Police quickly established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.

A short time later, at approximately 12:15 am on Friday, 8 August, police arrested a 15-year-old boy in Annandale in connection with the stabbing. He was taken to Newtown Police Station, where inquiries are ongoing.

Police have not yet confirmed if charges have been laid or if additional suspects are being pursued. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation, and authorities are urging anyone with information or footage from the area to come forward.

The park where the incident occurred is a known local gathering spot, but authorities have not indicated whether the victims or attackers were known to each other.
