Police in New South Wales are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a man who has been reported missing from the state’s mid-north coast. Authorities hold serious concerns for the man’s welfare.

Leon Davies, aged 35, was last in contact with a family member on Monday, 21 July 2025. Since then, there has been no further communication, and efforts by relatives to reach him have been unsuccessful.

On Friday, 25 July, officers from the Manning Great Lakes Police District were notified of his disappearance. A formal missing person investigation was launched, with police working to establish his last known movements and any potential leads regarding his current whereabouts.

Initial inquiries suggest that Mr Davies may have been in the Taree central business district on the morning of Thursday, 24 July. Detectives are now piecing together any available CCTV footage, witness sightings, and other data to confirm this sighting and identify his possible direction of travel afterward.

Leon is believed to be driving a white 2009 Ford Ranger single cab utility. The vehicle features a silver bullbar, spotlights, a light bar along the roofline, and a silver aluminium tray. Three silver toolboxes are mounted on the tray. The vehicle is registered in Queensland and bears the registration number 655-IT2.

Mr Davies is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 175 centimetres tall, of thin build, with short brown hair. It is not currently known what clothing he may have been wearing at the time of his disappearance.

He is known to frequent a number of areas on the New South Wales mid-north coast, including Taree, Port Macquarie, Lake Cathie, and North Haven. Police are asking residents and business owners in these areas to remain alert and report any possible sightings of Mr Davies or the vehicle he may be driving.

Authorities have expressed concern for his wellbeing and are treating the case with urgency. Anyone who may have seen Mr Davies, his vehicle, or who may have relevant information is urged to come forward.

Information can be provided to Manning Great Lakes Police or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers website. All reports are treated confidentially.

The investigation remains ongoing as police continue their efforts to locate Mr Davies and ensure his safety.
