The Burwood Police Area Command has launched a public appeal to locate Katherine Woods, a 42-year-old woman missing from Sydney’s Inner West. According to police, she was last seen leaving a medical facility in Concord at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 29 July 2025. Authorities have confirmed that she has not been seen or heard from since that morning.

Police began inquiries when Ms Woods failed to return home and could not be contacted. Concern is high due to her multiple medical conditions requiring regular treatment and ongoing medication. Her welfare is considered at risk.

Ms Woods is described as Caucasian, about 165 cm tall, with a medium build and fair complexion. She has shoulder-length brown hair and hazel-colored eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she wore a loose jumper with orange lining, black leggings, and rubber shoes.

Police believe she may frequent nearby local areas, including Rhodes Shopping Centre, Strathfield Plaza, Burwood CBD, and Central Railway Station. Members of the public who may have seen her in these places are asked to come forward.

Anyone with information regarding Ms Woods’ location is urged to contact Burwood Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Reports can also be made through Crime Stoppers’ online portal confidentially. Police stress that accurate and timely information may assist in locating her and ensuring her safety.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities continue working with Ms Woods’ family members and emergency services to search for her. As she has not been seen since leaving the medical centre, efforts include reviewing any available security camera footage and possible access to transportation networks from the Concord area.

This is a serious welfare matter, and police have emphasised the importance of public support. They remind residents not to share unverified details on social media but instead direct information to official police channels.

The case reflects a coordinated response by the NSW Police and the broader community, involving media outreach, patrols in local areas, and liaison with medical facilities. Police also continue to engage with the family to offer support and receive any updated information on possible locations or behavioural patterns.
