Sydney Police Search for Missing Man Last Seen in Ultimo

Police in Sydney are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a man who has been reported missing from the inner-city suburb of Ultimo.

Douglas Martin, 30, was last seen around 7 pm on Thursday, 7 August 2025, on Jones Street in Ultimo. When he could not be reached or found, the matter was reported to the Sydney City Police Area Command, which has since launched an investigation into his whereabouts.

Authorities hold serious concerns for Douglas’ welfare and are urging anyone with information to come forward. As part of their inquiries, police are continuing to canvass areas where he is known to frequent, including Haymarket and Kings Cross.

Douglas is described as having an Asian appearance, standing approximately 187 centimeters tall, with a slim build and black hair. At the time of his disappearance, he was last seen wearing a blue shirt. Investigators believe he may be travelling by bicycle.

Police have not released details about any specific medical conditions or vulnerabilities, but confirmed that the urgency of the case is due to potential risks to Douglas’s well-being.

Officers have also asked residents and business owners in the Ultimo, Haymarket, and Kings Cross areas to check CCTV footage, dashcams, and surrounding properties in case he may have been sighted after 7 August.
