Authorities in South Australia have recovered what they believe to be the missing head of Julian Story, the victim in a suspected murder and dismemberment case that has drawn national attention. South Australia Police confirmed that the skull was discovered by a dog walker in scrubland near Port Lincoln, weeks after the burned and dismembered remains of the 39-year-old man were found at his apartment in June.

Julian Story’s partner, Tamika Sueann Rose Chesser, 34, was arrested on June 19 and charged with murder and interfering with human remains in an attempt to pervert the course of justice. She was also charged with assaulting a police officer during the investigation. Chesser, who briefly appeared on the 2010 season of the reality television show Beauty and the Geek Australia, is currently being held in a secure mental health facility and is undergoing psychiatric evaluation. A committal hearing is scheduled for December 18.

Emergency services responded to a small fire at the couple’s Port Lincoln apartment on June 19, where they discovered the remains of a man believed to be Story. Police allege the murder took place two days earlier, on the night of June 17. The body had been severely burnt and dismembered, and the victim’s head was missing at the time. Forensic analysis is now underway to confirm that the recently recovered skull belongs to Story.

Investigators continue to examine evidence gathered from the residence and surrounding areas. Police released CCTV footage showing Chesser walking with her dogs and carrying a bag near the area where the remains were later discovered. Authorities have not commented on whether the footage directly connects to the alleged crime but confirmed it forms part of the ongoing investigation.

South Australia Police have urged the public and media to refrain from speculation while the case remains active. A spokesperson stated, “Further information will be provided in due course. Our priority remains supporting the victim’s family and ensuring justice is served.”

No plea has been entered by the accused at this stage. Chesser’s legal team has not made a public statement.

Julian Story’s family has requested privacy as they await the results of the investigation and mourn the loss of their loved one.
