A man has been charged following a dramatic police operation in Wallan, Victoria, which involved the use of stop sticks to bring a truck to a halt. The incident unfolded after police attempted to intercept the vehicle, leading to a brief but tense pursuit.

According to Victoria Police, officers spotted the truck being driven erratically in the early hours and attempted to pull it over. However, the driver allegedly refused to stop, prompting police to initiate a pursuit. As the situation escalated, officers deployed tyre-deflation devices, commonly known as stop sticks, to safely stop the truck and prevent any potential danger to the public or further damage to property.

The truck eventually came to a halt in Wallan, a town located approximately 45 kilometers north of Melbourne. Police arrested the driver at the scene without further incident. The man, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, has since been charged with multiple offences.

Authorities confirmed that the charges include dangerous driving, failing to stop when directed by police, and other related traffic offences. The man was taken into custody and is expected to appear in court soon.
