Death of Woman in Deer Park Under Active Police Investigation

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing to investigate the death of a 51-year-old woman in Deer Park, with several individuals already interviewed and released as police work to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities believe those involved were known to one another, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Emergency services were called to a property on Stevenston Street around 11:45 p.m. on July 17, following reports of an unresponsive woman. Upon arrival, paramedics and officers from Victoria Police confirmed the woman was deceased at the scene. The victim, a resident, has not yet been publicly named as authorities notify the next of kin.

Three people, all residents of Deer Park, were arrested at the scene. They include a 30-year-old man, a 26-year-old woman, and a 38-year-old woman. Each was taken into custody and interviewed by detectives before being released pending further inquiries. No formal charges have been laid at this stage.

The case is being handled by Victoria Police’s Homicide Squad, the specialized unit responsible for investigating suspicious deaths, murders, and other serious incidents involving loss of life. A police spokesperson confirmed that all parties involved were “known to each other,” but no further details about their relationship or potential motives have been released. Authorities continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.

“At this stage, the exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined,” the police spokesperson said. “Investigations remain ongoing.”
