Dapto Teen Missing, Police Appeal for Help

Police in New South Wales are appealing for public assistance to locate a 13-year-old girl who has been reported missing from the Dapto area.

Ameriah Stonham was last seen on Cleveland Road in Dapto at around 8:30am on Wednesday, 6 August 2025. When she was unable to be located or contacted, officers from Lake Illawarra Police District were notified and initiated inquiries into her whereabouts.

Authorities, along with her family, have expressed concern for her welfare. Due to her young age and pre-existing medical conditions, there are heightened fears for her safety.

Ameriah is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 170cm tall, of thin build, and has shoulder-length ash blonde hair. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a brown jacket, light blue denim shorts, and white shoes. She was also carrying a brown, diamond-shaped purse.

Police noted that Ameriah is known to frequent the Dapto area, as well as locations in Wollongong and the Sydney central business district.

Officers are urging anyone who may have information about Ameriah’s whereabouts to contact Lake Illawarra Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can be provided anonymously and will be treated confidentially.

Investigators are continuing their search and following all possible leads to ensure the teenager’s safe return.

Members of the public are also encouraged to share Ameriah’s description and last known location across community networks and social media, as broad awareness may assist in locating her promptly.
