Queensland Police are conducting an urgent search for an 11-year-old girl who went missing from Carrara on Friday afternoon, July 26. The young girl was last seen around 3:00pm at an address on Nerang Broadbeach Road. Her sudden disappearance has raised significant concern, with police and her family describing it as highly unusual and out of character.

Authorities confirmed that the girl may have been sighted later that evening in the Palm Beach area around 9:30pm. Police believe she may still be in or near Palm Beach or Tugun, and are asking the public in those areas to remain alert for any potential sightings.

She is described as Caucasian, approximately 55cm tall, with a medium build, brown hair, and brown eyes. At the time she was last seen, she was wearing denim shorts, a white jumper with purple writing on the back, and white shoes.

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) released an official missing persons alert late on Friday night, along with a photograph of the child, in an effort to reach more members of the public. Officers have been conducting extensive door knocks and searches across nearby suburbs and coastal areas as part of the ongoing investigation.

“Police hold concerns for the girl’s welfare and are appealing to anyone who may have seen her or may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward,” a QPS spokesperson said.

Investigators are working closely with the girl’s family, who have expressed deep concern for her safety. No evidence of foul play has been confirmed at this stage, but police are not ruling anything out and continue to treat the situation as a priority.

The case comes amid growing awareness of child safety in Queensland, with police deploying all available resources, including specialist search teams, to assist in locating the missing girl.

Residents across the Gold Coast region, particularly in Carrara, Palm Beach, and Tugun, are urged to check their properties and surveillance footage for any signs of the missing child.

Anyone with information is urged to immediately contact Police link at 131 444 and quote reference number QP2501312745 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
