Teenager Killed in Tragic Pedestrian Crash in Padstow Heights

A teenage boy has died after being struck by a car in Padstow Heights, Sydney’s south-west, in a devastating incident late last night. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite efforts, the young victim could not be saved.  

The collision occurred around 11:00 PM on Saturday, 12 July 2025, on Davies Road in Padstow Heights. Officers from the Bankstown Police Area Command arrived to find the pedestrian believed to be in his late teens had suffered fatal injuries. New South Wales (NSW) Ambulance paramedics attempted to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.  

The driver, a 26-year-old man, was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory blood and alcohol testing, as per standard procedure. Police have cordoned off the area, with specialists from the Crash Investigation Unit set to examine the scene. A report will be prepared for the Coroner to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.  

Authorities have not yet released further details, including the identities of those involved or potential contributing factors. However, the incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers on our roads, particularly at night when visibility is reduced.  

Local residents expressed shock at the news, with one neighbour describing the area as typically quiet. “You don’t expect something like this to happen here,” they said. “It’s heartbreaking for the family.”  

As investigations continue, questions may arise about road safety measures and enforcement topics that demand scrutiny without political bias. While tragedies like this underscore the need for vigilance, they also highlight the importance of personal responsibility behind the wheel.
