Man Dies in Springfield Central Crash, QLD

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash late Tuesday night in Springfield Central, Queensland.

Emergency services responded at approximately 11:03pm on August 6 to reports of a collision at the intersection of Sinnathamby Boulevard and University Drive involving a silver Toyota Hilux.

Initial investigations suggest the vehicle left the road and crashed under unknown circumstances.

A passenger in the vehicle, a man in his 20s, was critically injured and died at the scene despite efforts by paramedics. The driver, a man in his 30s, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital for assessment.

Queensland Police’s Forensic Crash Unit has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities are appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed the crash or have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.

The incident adds to the ongoing concern about road safety in Queensland. While the exact cause of this crash remains under investigation, police continue to urge drivers to avoid risky behaviours behind the wheel.

The Queensland Police Service has highlighted the importance of recognising the ‘Fatal Five’ contributing factors in road trauma: speeding, drink and drug driving, failure to wear seatbelts, fatigue, and driver distraction.
