A 21-year-old man from Logan Central has died following a serious motorcycle crash in Berrinba on the night of August 1. The fatal incident, which occurred shortly before 10:00 p.m., is now under investigation by the Queensland Police Service’s Forensic Crash Unit.

According to initial reports, the young man was riding a green Kawasaki ZX10R westbound along Gilmore Road when his motorcycle collided with the rear of a parked truck trailer. The impact caused significant damage to the vehicle, and the rider, who was alone at the time, suffered critical injuries.

Emergency services, including paramedics and police, arrived promptly at the scene. Despite immediate efforts, the rider was pronounced dead on site. Authorities have withheld the man’s identity pending formal notification of his family, but confirmed that he was a resident of Logan Central.

Police are now focused on determining the circumstances that led to the collision. The truck trailer involved was reportedly stationary at the time of impact. However, it remains unclear whether visibility, road conditions, or other environmental factors played a role in the crash.

Investigators have not yet indicated whether speed, lighting, mechanical failure, or driver distraction may have contributed to the incident. The Forensic Crash Unit continues to examine physical evidence and collect data to reconstruct the events leading up to the accident.

Queensland Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has dashcam or CCTV footage taken near Gilmore Road in Berrinba on the evening of August 1 to come forward. They believe public assistance could be vital in clarifying what occurred in the moments before the fatal impact.

This latest tragedy adds to the rising number of serious motorcycle crashes in southeast Queensland. Authorities continue to emphasise road safety, particularly for motorcyclists, who remain among the most vulnerable road users.

Further details will be released by the police as the investigation progresses and once findings from the forensic review become available.
