Thirteen individuals have been charged following an extensive investigation into an alleged organised crime group operating across Sydney, identified by police as the “G7.” The operation is part of a wider effort led by Taskforce Falcon, a specialist unit under the NSW Police Force, aimed at targeting criminal networks involved in vehicle-related offences and violent crime.

The investigation began in January 2025 under the codename Strike Force Duncan, initiated by the State Crime Command’s Financial Crimes Squad. Officers focused on the suspected supply of vehicles to organised criminal networks, uncovering what they describe as a sophisticated web of illegal activity tied to a group allegedly responsible for aggravated break-ins, home invasions, and vehicle thefts.

Authorities say that 17 vehicles were recovered during the operation and allege that these were deliberately staged to support the group’s activities. The police claim that the G7 group functions as a violent and well-structured criminal enterprise, although the exact nature and hierarchy of the organisation remain under investigation.

This week’s developments follow earlier charges against nine individuals linked to the same group under previous operations known as Strike Force Hamert and Strike Force Beech.

On Monday, 28 July 2025, detectives visited a correctional facility on the Mid North Coast and arrested an 18-year-old man. He has been charged with seven offences, including participating in a criminal group, possessing an unauthorised firearm, and stealing a motor vehicle. He was refused bail and appeared in Bail Division Court 1 the same day. His next court appearance is scheduled for 27 August 2025 at Campbelltown Local Court.

On Wednesday, 30 July 2025, police executed search warrants at two properties in Greystanes and Menai, with support from the Raptor Squad. During the raids, officers seized over $29,000 in cash, a single-barrel shotgun, multiple rounds of ammunition, 14 mobile phones, and more than one kilogram of cocaine.

Later that day, officers stopped a vehicle in Narellan and arrested a 21-year-old man who now faces multiple charges, including possession of a firearm and participating in a criminal group. He was also refused bail.

NSW Police stated that further arrests are possible as investigations under Taskforce Falcon continue. The taskforce brings together 13 existing strike forces and more than 150 officers, reflecting the scale of police efforts to disrupt organised crime and reduce violent gang activity across New South Wales.
