Taskforce Falcon, a New South Wales Police initiative, has charged 13 individuals linked to the G7 crime network, targeting organised crime in Sydney.

Taskforce Falcon, established by the New South Wales (NSW) Police Force’s State Crime Command, has charged 13 men in a major crackdown on the G7 crime network, suspected of fueling Sydney’s underworld violence. The operation, detailed in a July 31, 2025, statement by Mirage News, began in January 2025 under Strike Force Duncan, initially probing vehicle supplies to Organised Criminal Networks (OCNs). Detectives uncovered G7’s alleged involvement in aggravated break-and-enters, home invasions, and motor vehicle thefts, believed to support high-profile OCNs, prompting escalation under Taskforce Falcon’s banner.

The NSW Police Force, supported by the NSW Crime Commission, arrested four men this week, bringing the total to 13 charged, as reported by Mirage News. Among them, a 28-year-old from Blacktown faces 19 charges, including directing a criminal group and supplying prohibited drugs, while a 22-year-old from Campbelltown was charged with 11 offenses, including break-and-enter and vehicle theft. Seized assets include 17 staged vehicles, $305,000 in cash, 1kg of cocaine, and luxury items, with police alleging these facilitated crimes like arson and shootings tied to Sydney’s gang conflicts. Taskforce Falcon Commander Detective Superintendent Jason Box told ABC News that these arrests disrupt networks exploiting Sydney’s streets, emphasizing proactive policing to prevent violence.

Since its May 2025 inception, Taskforce Falcon has arrested over 80 individuals, laid more than 200 charges, and seized 15 firearms and 50 vehicles, per ABC News. The taskforce, comprising 150 officers, targets 13 strike forces investigating crimes since December 2024, including the murder of David Khau in Canley Heights, as noted in a NSW Police statement. Box highlighted the alarming trend of juveniles recruited via encrypted apps for minimal pay, warning of their vulnerability to retaliation from crime syndicates.

NSW Police Minister Yasmin Catley, speaking to 7News, condemned the “horrific” violence, vowing to pursue offenders relentlessly to protect communities. The operation underscores the NSW government’s commitment to public safety, with Taskforce Falcon’s high-visibility tactics and intelligence-driven raids aiming to dismantle criminal networks before further harm occurs. Police urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
